Collingwood’s youngsters are embracing the hype surrounding Friday night’s blockbuster Preliminary Final clash with Richmond.

Brayden Sier, who is among the players who have debuted for the Magpies this season, is confident he won’t be overawed by the occasion.

“I think Pendles and all the boys that have played prelims before have said just take it all in, because they don’t come around too often,” Sier told Collingwood Media.

“But, yeah, it’s just another game of football for us, so let’s go out and win a game of footy.”

As has been the case for much of the season, the Pies have been in high spirits in the lead-up to the game.

“There’s plenty of good vibes, I think, at the moment,” Sier said. “It’s a good time of year to be playing footy.

“I think everyone is embracing it.”

Jack Crisp is also looking forward to strutting his stuff on the big stage on Friday night.

Although the Tigers have set the pace this season, Crisp and his teammates are confident they can cause an upset and win their way through to the Grand Final.

“It’s going to be a great challenge,” Crisp said.

“We’ve played them twice already and they’ve got us both times in the last quarter.

“So we’re going to try and look for a four-quarter performance and hopefully that will get the job done for us.”
