On the night of Saturday 6 May 2017, the Collingwood Football Club officially announced its 125 Champions of Collingwood.

Club historian Michael Roberts and Herald Sun journalist Glenn McFarlane launched a book by the same title, recognising the greatest 125 players to represent the famous Black and White stripes.

The 125 players were announced at a gala event at the Crown Palladium, held hours after the team’s match against Carlton.

The naming of the 125 players was a key part of the club’s celebration of its 125th anniversary.
