Collingwood is delighted to confirm the elevation of utility Harry O’Brien to the club's leadership group for the remainder of the 2013 season.

A member of Collingwood's leadership corps last year, O’Brien’s renewed focus and stellar early season form prompted the ever-present star to accept an invitation to rejoin the group, recognising his status a senior member of the team.

The 2010 Premiership hero and one-time All-Australian joins captain Nick Maxwell, Scott Pendlebury, Luke Ball and Dayne Beams in the now expanded five-man group.

Director of Football Geoff Walsh said O’Brien’s appointment reflects the esteem in which the 26-year old is held by his team mates.

"Harry has long been acknowledged by his peers as one of the playing group's key on and off-field leaders," Walsh said.

"His experience, maturity and professionalism is highly valued within the club, and admired by his team mates.

"We are pleased he has chosen to once again step into a leadership role, and look forward to his ongoing contribution."
