The Collingwood Football Club is pleased to announce the winner of its Holden Target 80K competition.

Stanley, a 73-year-old from Mount Evelyn in Melbourne’s outer east, is the lucky winner of a brand new Holden VF Commodore.

The VF Commodore was up for grabs as a result of Collingwood’s membership hitting 80,000, which made it the first club to reach the 80K mark in VFL/AFL history.

As luck would have it, Stanley’s wife June’s car broke down only 24 hours before Collingwood officials arrived to present them with their new Holden VF Commodore.

"This is just a shock, we never win anything and for this to come at this moment will truly have an impact on our lives,” said Stanley.

"Our car just broke down yesterday and we were struggling to think about how we were going to fix it.

"I am a club member and I love my Magpies. Now that I am in my 70s it is becoming difficult to head to as many games as I would like."

Like Stanley, June was both shocked and overjoyed at their good fortune.

"We absolutely love our footy and watch almost every game on TV,” she told collingwoodfc.com.au.

"I am still in shock, it is such a nice car.

"We have never owned a brand new car so this is truly special.”

Collingwood thanks each of its 80,456 members for their contribution to the club in 2013. Bring on 2014. Go Pies!

Congratulations to Stanley and June - the winners of a brand new Holden VF Commodore!
