A trio of career-highs received recognition from the coaches after Saturday’s clash between Collingwood and West Coast at Etihad Stadium.

Steele Sidebottom, Jack Crisp and Marley Williams collected the highest disposal counts of their careers before all polling votes in the AFL Coaches Association Champion player of the year award.

Sidebottom was the leading choice of Magpies players as he received six out of a possible 10 votes for his 38 disposal performance.

After polling 10 out of 10 votes in Collingwood’s round one clash with Brisbane, Sidebottom has since further closed the gap on Collingwood leader Scott Pendlebury with 12 votes in the past three games.

Pendlebury went voteless against West Coast, however remains in fifth position in the competition with 55 votes.

After a frustrating day in the coach’s box, Nathan Buckley and Adam Simpson also gave votes to Crisp for his all-round game in the midfield.

The ex-Brisbane Lion was able to combine 31 disposals with a disciplined run-with role on Luke Shuey.

Seemingly a coach’s favourite, Williams was the third Magpie selected after a performance which produced 33 disposals, including nine rebound 50s.

Visiting Eagles spearhead Mark LeCras was one of six players’ arcoss the competition awarded maximum votes in round 16 action.

Despite facing the daunting match-up of Alan Toovey, LeCras led West Coast with 23 disposals and three goals.

Over in the West, AFLCA Player of the year leader Nat Fyfe was unable to add to his season tally of 100 during Fremantle’s Saturday night clash with Carlton.

Fyfe remains 25 votes ahead of second placed Dan Hannebery with seven rounds remaining.
