Midfielder Taylor Adams has been offered a two week suspension by the AFL's Match Review Panel after kneeing Port Adelaide's Justin Westhoff.

In accepting an early plea, Adams' suspension will remain at two weeks due to an existing poor record.

Collingwood's next two matches are against West Coast and the Western Bulldogs (both at Etihad Stadium).

The Match Review Panel offered the following assessment of the Adams-Westhoff incident on Monday evening:
Taylor Adams, Collingwood, has been charged with charged with kneeing Justin Westhoff, Port Adelaide, during the third quarter of the round 15 match between Collingwood and Port Adelaide, played at Adelaide Oval on Thursday July 9, 2015.

In summary, due to an existing poor record, his two-match suspension would remain at a two-match penalty if he accepted an early plea.

Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from the Port Adelaide Football Club, it was the view of the panel the incident should be classified as intentional conduct with low impact to the head.

This offence was classified as a two-match sanction. The player has an applicable bad record which increases the penalty to a three-match sanction.

An early plea can reduce the penalty to a two-match sanction.
