Ben Reid says he is fully fit and determined after his 2011 All Australian season ended in disappointment.

The 22-year-old key defender enjoyed a stellar season just gone, but it didn’t end well with Reid getting injured on the eve of the finals and unable to recapture is best form as the Magpies went down to the Cats in the Grand Final.

He is back in training on the altitude camp in Arizona and wants to use his best 2011 form as a "minimum" and take his game to another level in 2012.

“I feel pretty good. Obviously at the end of the year I had a few injuries but I got over them and I’m ready to tackle the pre-season,” Reid told CTV in Flagstaff, USA.

“(I felt) mixed emotions, more so on the downside. We weren’t able to get what we came for which was a premiership.

“On a personal level I had a pretty consistent year, although at the end of the year I didn’t play the type of footy that I would’ve like to.”

Reid, a member of the Magpies’ 2010 premiership team, is feeling fit and keen to make the most of the Arizona camp after a foot injury kept him from participating in much of the training in the America last year.

“(I’m) fully over them (injuries) and participating fully… last year I came over here and didn’t do a whole heap with the foot fracture that I had. I’m ahead of where I was last year.”
