Collingwood will enter Friday night’s Qualifying Final against Hawthorn equipped with three tall forwards.

Chris Dawes has been given a reprieve after his omission last week with the 193cm big man replacing the injured Tyson Goldsack (ankle), while rover Jarryd Blair returns from a groin injury to replace the omitted Jamie Elliott.

Tickets still remain for Friday night’s match.

The return of Dawes means that first choice ruckman Darren Jolly will receive adequate relief at the stoppages after undersized defender Nick Maxwell was forced to provide support in the ruck last week.

Recap all the news from the Westpac Centre on CTV in the media player above.

Dawes joins Travis Cloke and teenager Jackson Paine as the marking targets in attack. The trio has only played together on five occasions, most recently in the round 15 loss to Carlton. It was Paine who replaced Dawes in the selected side last week and he performed well, kicking 1.2 from five marks.

The Magpies will enjoy an immediate injection of zeal around the packs from the diminutive Blair who sat out last week’s match with a groin complaint.

Blair will ensure that Collingwood will have a greater presence at the stoppages. He is ranked fourth at the club for contested possessions and second in tackles.

The rover has a strong record against Hawthorn, most notably kicking three goals and winning 20 disposals in the round one loss. He was also one of the better players in last year’s Preliminary Final triumph, showing a cool head under pressure in the hectic final term.

Dawes, too, will have fond memories of the Hawks. He was a key to the Preliminary Final victory, kicking three and holding five strong marks.

For Goldsack, the man Dawes is replacing, his ankle injury is a cruel blow as he played all bar two matches in the home and away season.

The three emergencies, Ben Sinclair, Paul Seedsman and the omitted Elliott, all represent energy and pace should they be called upon at the final hour.

Fans are encouraged to attend the Collingwood Superstore grand opening at the Westpac Centre with ?up to 60 per cent off adidas and players instore from 4-5pm tomorrow.
