The Collingwood Football Club playing list will run a lap of the Royal Botanic Gardens Tan Track on Saturday 11 February as part of the ‘GO THE TAN’ charity event.

The players will start at the Pillars of Wisdom (near the Swan St bridge) at 9am, and captain Nick Maxwell is inviting members of the public to register for the event, and join the players in running a lap to raise funds for the Friedreich Ataxia Research Association (FARA).

‘GO THE TAN’ is an event for FARA, supporting research to find a cure for Friedreich Ataxia, a fatal degenerative, neurological childhood disease. All profits from the event go to FARA, to help support its continued mission in world leading research into a treatment and cure for Friedreich Ataxia.

Maxwell encouraged all members of the community to get behind the cause by joining the team tomorrow.

“All the players are looking forward to running alongside members of the community in support of such an important cause. We hope to see as many people as possible down there to help us raise some money and support for FARA”.
