Melbourne has lost forward Tim Smith for its important Queen's Birthday clash with Collingwood, though star midfielder Clayton Oliver has been declared fit to play.

Josh Wagner, who was initially dropped from the side earlier in the week, replaces Smith.

Oliver had left the training track early over the weekend, having dealt with a back complaint, but was named in the side's final team prior to the clash.

The Pies have made no late changes, despite significant attention lingering over the fitness of ruckman Brodie Grundy this week, who was battling a slight ankle tweak.

Collingwood had initially made two changes for the clash, with Brayden Sier and Mason Cox replacing the injured Dayne Beams and the omitted Ben Reid.

Melbourne recalled a host of key players, including star defensive duo Jake Lever and Steven May, with Christian Salem and Marty Hore also included in its team.

Oscar McDonald, Jay Kennedy Harris and Billy Stretch were all dropped.
