Collingwood will kick start its finals campaign by hosting a qualifying final against the Southern Saints this Saturday at Victoria Park.

The Pies secured the home final after last week’s 15-point victory over Hawthorn. The Saints loss to Richmond saw the Pies regain top position on the ladder, crowning them back-to-back minor premiers.

The two sides last met back in round one where the Saints claimed a 38-point win in Moorabbin. After 16 rounds, both sides are likely to have very different line-ups.

The road ahead

A win on Saturday could see the Pies’ advance through to week two of the finals series where they’d face the winner of Western Bulldogs or Richmond in an elimination final.

Having secured the double chance, a loss would see the Pies face the winner of either Melbourne Uni or Geelong.

Collingwood will announce its side for the qualifying final on Thursday night.
