Adam Treloar believes he can improve on his Preliminary Final performance when Collingwood meet West Coast in the Grand Final on Saturday afternoon.

The star midfielder has now completed three games since returning from hamstring surgery. The most recent resulted in 19 disposals and a crucial last quarter goal against the reigning premiers.

“(Against) the Giants I thought I was back with my top speed. But with the six-day break, I thought my match fitness wasn’t there on the weekend against Richmond,” he told Collingwood Media podcast ‘Sports Galore’.

“But I’m feeling unbelievable this week.

“We’re playing in a Grand Final and there’s nothing that is going to stop me from giving my absolute all.”

The enormity of Grand Final week is starting to sink in for Treloar, who had never played in a final before this season.

As he pulled into the Holden Centre car park on Tuesday morning, he was greeted by thousands of eager fans awaiting training.

“I had to get in about 8:30-9am to jump in the water.

“I drove in and there would have been 1000 or 2000 people already. And we didn’t have training for another hour and a half.”

“Leading up to the Giants game I thought ‘geez, this crowd is big’ and then before the Richmond game it was even bigger.

“But wow, today was huge. Absolutely huge. They were doing the USA chant and they were doing the Collingwood chant. It was unbelievable.”

It’s now a waiting game for Treloar and his Magpie teammates. The players will have a day off on Wednesday, before another open training session on Thursday.
