One of the big factors exciting Adam Treloar when he came to Collingwood in the 2015 off-season was the prospect of calling Dane Swan a teammate.

The 2011 Brownlow Medallist was an idol of Treloar’s, and the former GWS Giant couldn’t wait to more about what made him tick on and off the field.

“Part of the reason I came (to Collingwood) was to play with the great man,” Treloar told Fox Footy’s AFL Tonight on Wednesday.

“He’s a champion of the game and I’ve only been able to play one game with him. I hope he goes on.”

As he returned to film the second episode of 'Sports Galore' with co-host Mark Allen, the question was posed – who are Adam Treloar’s other sporting heroes?

Below are five moments to listen out for in episode two of ‘Sports Galore’.

Treloar on Swan

“He’s up there with one of the greats that I’ve ever seen play,” Treloar says as he names Chris Judd and Anthony Koutoufides as his other football idols.

“I’m praying that he comes back and plays, because I want to play more games with him.”

On finding out he was interviewing an idol

In 2014, the Greater Western Sydney Giants captured the surprise of Treloar learning he was going to interview one of his idols.

Two years on, the now-Magpie re-lives the experience.

“It was an amazing feeling. I didn’t believe it at the time… it was a dream come true for me.”

Haircuts to regret

“That new haircut is doing you wonders,” Allen says upon watching footage of Treloar from 2014.

“If I brought in a photo of what my hair looked like when I was 16… It was beyond an afro. Have you ever seen Dragon Ball Z? – Super Saiyan, that was me.”

Can you out-do a sporting hero?

“Mark, do you think you could beat Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Charles Barkley in a game of basketball?” Treloar asks.

The answer is the one you’d expect, but the 23-year-old has an example ready of someone who has.

On a sporting event that’s surprised him

It’s hard to find a piece of sporting news that surprises Adam Treloar. During the week, he found himself surprised by something he didn’t even want to watch.

“I watched it yesterday with a mate on the couch. I actually didn’t want to watch it. He said ‘mate you’ve got to watch this’, and it was phenomenal.”
