It’s some time since we’ve seen Adam Oxley at senior level.

Unfortunately, Collingwood will continue to be without the 24-year-old for the months to come after he underwent groin surgery on Monday.

“Adam has been battling hip and groin issues and he has finally succumbed to that,” General Manager of Football Geoff Walsh told Collingwood Media’s Blackmores Injury Update.

“He has also had some surgery in the last 24 hours, and that will mean a fairly extended period on the sidelines.

“We will keep you updated as we go, but we would expect it will be 2-3 months at least with Adam, so it’s disappointing for him.”

Oxley has not played senior football since the penultimate round of the 2016 season, while injury has restricted him to only two VFL games this year, and none since round two.

Walsh also confirmed senior duo Ben Reid (quad) and Travis Varcoe (hamstring) would be unlikely to reappear until around the week of the mid-season bye, while Jesse White is at least 2-3 weeks away from returning from a hamstring complaint.
