Three of the four players injured in Collingwood’s gutsy win over Fremantle last Sunday will require further assessment ahead of the bye weekend before their long-term availability is determined.

Jamie Elliott (ankle), Tyson Goldsack (shoulder) and Daniel Wells (calf) will all miss Monday’s Queen’s Birthday clash with Melbourne.

From there, the club has a bye weekend, with further scans next week to unveil information about their status.

“Jamie will be in a boot until probably the end of this week,” General Manager of Football Geoff Walsh told Collingwood Media’s Blackmores Injury Update.

“We will then take it out and look at it again over the weekend and probably (by) Tuesday or Wednesday next week we will assess just how much improvement that’s made.

“Right now, it’s a bit early to tell.”

Wells left the field with a calf complaint, and is set for a stint in the grandstands.

“Daniel is having a scan to determine the exact nature of his injury later today (Tuesday) but we would expect that it is a medium-term injury.”

Meanwhile, Goldsack, who bravely returned to the field during the final quarter, has been diagnosed with a cracked scapula.

“It was a really brave performance for Goldy to continue on for most of the game,” Walsh said.

“While it is cracked, there is little or no separation, so that’s good news.

“Again, after the bye, we will assess how quickly that has healed and his range of movement and his ability to function through pain, or what sort of level of pain.”

The news is better for Levi Greenwood, who will have his corked calf monitored during the week before undergoing a fitness test.

James Aish, meanwhile, is a chance to return from a broken cheekbone.

Ben Reid (quad), Travis Varcoe (hamstring) and Jesse White (hamstring) will all return after the bye.
