Difficult conditions in last Thursday night’s loss to Port Adelaide weren’t enough to keep a young star and a proven performer from receiving votes in the AFL Coaches Association Player of the Year poll.

Taylor Adams’ played his best game in the Black and White amassing 38 disposals including clearances, six tackles and five entries inside 50m.

While Adams is no stranger to big numbers, gathering 30 or more disposals in three separate games this season, his performance on Thursday Night led him to receive six votes in the ALFCA poll.

Unfortunately, Adams’ will be unable to continue his stellar form in upcoming games against the Eagles and Bulldogs as he serves a two-game suspension for kneeing Justin Westhoff in the third quarter.

A fixture in Collingwood’s best performers, Steele Sidebottom also received five votes for his 31 disposal performance.

Sidebottom’s five votes brings him within four votes of Collingwood’s second placed Dane Swan who follows club leader Scott Pendlebury.

Marley Williams remains in fourth spot, seven votes behind Sidebottom with Adam Oxley and Travis Cloke rounding out the top five.
