Collingwood is delighted to confirm it has re-signed the premiership winning trio of Nathan Brown, Ben Reid and Steele Sidebottom.

Reid, who was eligible for free agency this season, has signed a four-year contract extension, expiring at the end of 2018, while Sidebottom and Brown have each re-committed for a further two seasons.

The former first round draft picks revealed they had finalised new deals to remain in black and white on tonight’s edition of The Club on Fox Footy.

Director of Football Rodney Eade said the re-signing of Brown, Reid and Sidebottom ensures the trio will enjoy the prime seasons of their career at the club.

“We are obviously pleased by the commitment Nathan, Ben and Steele have shown to the club and our collective ambitions by signing new contracts,” Eade said.

“The trio have proven themselves to be accomplished performers over a sustained period, with their conduct on and off the field earning them the right to be regarded as senior players, and in the case of Steele and Nathan, a place in our leadership group.

“Nathan, Ben and Steele are highly valued by their peers, and the club’s coaching staff, and we are confident they are each capable of playing their best football in the coming seasons.”

A former All-Australian, Reid has emerged in recent times as one of the leading swingmen in the AFL, with his athleticism and contested marking strength making him an asset at either end of the ground.

Fellow 2006 draft class alumni Brown meanwhile has cemented himself among the most miserly full backs in the AFL, anchoring the Magpie defence with aplomb while tackling the opposition’s leading forward.

Recording back-to-back top five finishes in the E.W Copeland Trophy over the past two seasons, Sidebottom’s unassuming style belies a fierce competitor, whose versatility and uncanny ability to rise to the occasion saw him reach the 100 game milestone by the age of 22.
