Collingwood has been forced to make two changes to its side for tomorrow night’s clash against traditional foe Carlton at the MCG after Alex Fasolo and Alan Toovey were ruled out through injury.

Despite initial optimism Fasolo would be available to line-up for the clash; the West Australian has ultimately succumbed to the toe concern which saw him substituted during the third term of Collingwood’s ANZAC Day clash last week.

Toovey, an ever present member of the side since making a swift return to action following a long term injury, meanwhile has been ruled out of the match after reporting hamstring soreness during the week.

His absence will be tempered by the return of fellow defender Marley Williams, with an impressive performance in the VFL last weekend proving sufficiently compelling for the coaching staff to name the 20-year for his first match of the 2014 season.

The 2013 Rising Star nominee collected 17 possessions, including seven contested disposals and three rebound 50s, as well as laying three tackles over three quarters in an impressive return to competitive action.

While Collingwood’s defence has proven miserly in recent weeks, Williams’ inclusion will prove welcome regardless, and particularly in Toovey’s absence, with a seventh place finish in last year’s E.W Copeland Trophy testament to the regard with which he is held at the club.

Williams will be joined on the inclusions list by Sam Dwyer, the small forward unsighted at senior level since suffering a knee injury against Geelong during round three.

Though Dwyer’s knock only saw him feature on the injury list for a solitary week, the irrepressible form of his teammates in subsequent match proved a greater impediment to his return to AFL action.

However, following consecutive 20-possession performances at VFL level which showcased Dwyer’s vision and simmering creativity, the former Port Melbourne star has been called up in Fasolo’s stead.

Taylor Adams, Nathan Brown and Ben Kennedy have been named on the emergencies list, highlighting the selection quandaries facing a Magpie coaching staff eager to reward a winning outfit.
