Talented utility Alex Fasolo has recommitted to Collingwood for another two seasons.

Fasolo’s new deal will see him remain in the Black and White stripes until at least the end of the 2016 season.

The 21-year-old, who announced his contract extension on Wednesday night’s episode of The Club, has played 44 senior games since joining Collingwood with selection No. 45 in the 2010 National Draft.

He made his name as a highly skilled forward flanker but has quickly reinvented himself as a creative backman in the early rounds of 2014.

Fasolo is currently averaging a career-high 18.5 disposals per game in his new role, including a career-high 32 against North Melbourne in round five.

Unfortunately for both player and club, he was hindered by a toe injury in the weeks that followed, though he is now back in the frame for senior selection.

The toe injury was not a reoccurrence of the foot issues that ruined his 2013 campaign and consigned him to the grandstands from May last year.

During his four years at the Westpac Centre, Fasolo has played in five finals, including the ill-fated 2011 decider against Geelong.
