ANZAC Day Medallist Paul Seedsman has made a swift return from a glute injury, slotting straight back into the Collingwood line up for Sunday’s blockbuster against Richmond.

Seedsman joins Alex Fasolo, Corey Gault and newly re-signed draftee Jordan De Goey as the three additions to the team’s 25-man squad.

The team will be finalised (22 players, three emergencies) at 5pm on Friday.

Tony Armstrong, who was promoted onto the senior list ahead of last week’s clash with Geelong, has been omitted.

Seedsman, who now has 41 senior games under his belt, made headlines after taking out the ANZAC Day Medal against Essendon just three weeks ago.

In collecting 31 disposals, registering 14 inside 50s and a goal, the 23-year-old all but cemented himself in Collingwood’s first choice team.

A glute injury midway through the win over Carlton six days later put the brakes on his progress temporarily, but he has made a quick recovery and is back in the frame to take on the Tigers.

De Goey enters the weekend with the ink drying on his new contract that will tie him to the club until at least the end of the 2018 season.

“A lot of the senior players like Jamie Elliott and Tom Langdon have also signed on so that is encouraging for the team,” the teenager told Collingwood Media’s Team Sheet.

“I just think the club is going in the right direction and I look forward to growing up with some of these younger players and trying to win premierships.”

De Goey’s VFL form has been consistent since his opening round debut.

In four home and away games, he is averaging 21.5 disposals, 7.0 clearances and 4.8 inside 50s per outing, with a high of 27 disposals and six tackles coming against Geelong in Bendigo last Saturday.

Fasolo enters selection calculations for the first time since round two. He collected 16 disposals in the VFL against Geelong and made a dent on the scoreboard, kicking three goals from five scoring shots.

As for Gault, the 22-year-old has been in the match committee’s minds in all seven games so far this year.

He has played three senior games but was an emergency in each of the three he missed.

During last week’s win in Bendigo, Gault won 18 disposals, kicked two behinds and won nine hitouts when pinch-hitting in the ruck.
