The new generation of Magpies continues to gain recognition from the wider football public.

Hot on the heels of Tim Broomhead and Jordan De Goey’s Rising Star nominations, another pair of young Pies have been named in the AFL Players’ Association’s 22Under22 Team of 2015.

Ruckman Brodie Grundy and defender Tom Langdon were chosen among the game’s elite in a team that was announced during the AFLPA’s annual awards dinner on Tuesday evening.

Grundy was named in the ruck while Langdon found himself a place on the four-man interchange bench.

It’s the second time Langdon has been named in the team in as many years, highlighting just how well the 21-year-old has transitioned into life as a professional footballer.

Marley Williams, Jack Crisp and Taylor Adams were among the original 47-man squad but did not make the final team.

Eagle-eyed Pies fans will also note the selection of Greater Western Sydney’s Adam Treloar on the wing.

Treloar has requested a trade to the Holden Centre next month.

How it works
The fan-voted 22Under22 concept was launched in 2013 to honour the young stars of the game. The team recognises the AFL’s best players aged 22 and under for the 2015 AFL season.

The AFL Players’ Association Board, led by President Matthew Pavlich, picked a preliminary squad of 47 players, with the public voting on the composition of the final team.
