They were up before sunrise and kept persisting long into a cold and windy summer's afternoon.

A trip to the Mornington Peninsula was no holiday for the Magpies as they endured a gruelling yet unique training session. 

Led by former Fitzroy player Brett Stephens, professional surfer Jay Thompson and UFC veteran and big wave surfer Richie Vaculik, the players were put to the test in a number of challenges.
