The Collingwood Football Club is pleased to announce a record fundraising effort of $320,000 was raised through the Magpie Nest at the ‘G providing much needed support for the Club’s Magpie Nest Program.

Thanks to the generosity of Collingwood Members, supporters, community and corporate partners – in particular the contributions of Coles and the Pratt Foundation – this year’s fundraising total almost doubled the amount raised in 2025.

The proceeds will help support the Cafe’s food services, which in turn allow access to wrap-around services, providing clients with NDIS assessments, legal support, optometry services, clothing and other essential support pathways.

Located in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, the Magpie Nest Cafe is often one of the first places people experiencing homelessness turn to for help. More than just serving a meal, it offers connection and a sense of belonging.

In 2025, more than 119,000 meals were served to people across the community. That’s 10,000 meals per month.

Collingwood CEO Craig Kelly thanked everyone who contributed to this year’s Magpie Nest Week and highlighted the impact it will have on the local community.

“The support shown throughout this year’s Magpie Nest Week has been incredible. To raise $320,000 is a remarkable result and a testament to the generosity of the Magpie Army and wider football community,” Kelly said.

“We were proud to welcome 500 Magpie Nest clients to the MCG over the weekend, and we thank our partners – Coles, the Pratt Foundation for matching donations, and to La Trobe Financial, LiveLife Alarms, and Alinta Energy – for helping make the day possible.

“Saturday was a powerful reminder of the important role the Cafe plays in supporting Melbourne’s most vulnerable. The funds raised will help ensure it can continue providing meals, essential services and connection to those who need it most.  Collingwood will remain committed to supporting that work.

“On behalf of everyone at Collingwood, thank you to our Members, supporters and all who donated. Magpie Nest at the ‘G continues to show the impact our community can have when we come together.”

Collingwood staff and players, alongside Coles’ employees, regularly offer their time to support the Cafe, which is run by volunteers and community members who are passionate about helping those in need.

Collingwood also opens its doors on Christmas Day, relocating the Magpie Nest Cafe to the Glasshouse at the KGM Centre, ensuring that no one goes without a meal or friendly company.
