Collingwood is pleased to announce the appointment of Jess Burger to the position of Head of Women’s Football.

Since joining the club in 2016 as a performance analyst, Burger has played a crucial role in Collingwood’s women’s football programs.

In 2018, she was appointed AFLW list Manager. In May this year, Burger joined the AFL Women’s Competition Committee which assists the AFL Commission surrounding all aspects of the women’s game.

Collingwood CEO Mark Anderson said Burger had distinguished herself in the AFL and AFLW programs and described her rise within the Collingwood system as a tribute to her understanding of and passion for the game.

“Jess has a first rate football mind and an excellent way of working with teams. We are really pleased to appoint her to the role of Head of Women’s Football,” Anderson said.

“Jess has played an integral role in developing the strategy, list development and delivery of our women’s football programs since our AFLW team’s inception.

“She is highly respected both within our club and the industry. Her passion for the game and belief in this group is always evident. We look forward to her leading the program with our coach, Steve Symonds, in our next stage of development.”

Collingwood’s AFLW program returns for pre-season training on September 29.
