Collingwood is pleased to announce that Chloe McMillan has been selected for the AFL’s Women’s Coach Acceleration Program (“WCAP”).

Launched earlier this year, WCAP aims to fast-track the development of women in coaching and assist in their progression into senior coaching roles across both AFL and AFLW programs.

Under the program, McMillan serve as a full-time development coach in Collingwood’s AFL program where she will work closely with the club’s AFL senior coach, Craig McRae under a formal mentorship.

She will have direct access to elite AFL coaching settings including match-day coaching box, game planning sessions and match committee meetings to support her development.

Since joining Collingwood’s AFLW program for the inaugural season in 2017, McMillan has served as both a development and assistant coach with the side over the past six years.

After being promoted to head coach of the club’s VFLW program at the end of 2019, McMillan was awarded the 2021 VFLW Coach of the Year having taken the side to an undefeated season as well as the 2021 Grand Final which was cancelled due to COVID-19.

McMillan is one of nine females across several AFL clubs to take part in the WCAP and she will commence the full-time role later this year.
