Defender Charlie Dean is set to return from injury and play VFL on Saturday.

The 20-year-old has been battling a foot issue for most of the season and will pull on the black and white for the first time against Brisbane at the AIA Centre.

High-flyer Ash Johnson made a positive return on limited minutes against Casey and is available for selection this weekend.

Jack Madgen will need to tick a few boxes during training across the week as he makes a come back from a shoulder injury and is likely to play VFL on Saturday.

Ruckman Brodie Grundy has begun a straight line running program and continues to develop his strength in the gym after a PCL injury. A return to play is on the cards for round 18. 

Tom Wilson had positive discussions with a specialist after back surgery and has started low level conditioning. He will start a gym program in the next fortnight.

Nathan Kreuger and Reef McInnes are in the early stages of shoulder surgery rehabilitation and are aiming to be fully fit for the start of pre-season.
