Forward Reef McInnes returns to the team, replacing Darcy Cameron, who injured his knee in Collingwood’s Round Three clash against Richmond at the MCG.

McInnes’ recall is a result of strong form in the VFL, kicking three goals in the Pies’ 52-point win against Port Melbourne.

The trip will make a memorable experience for VFL and AFL listed players alike, who are travelling to Brisbane together, with the Collingwood VFL team taking on Brisbane at Brighton Homes Arena at 1.05pm on Thursday afternoon.

The topic of the week has been Collingwood’s ruck situation, with coach Craig McRae maintaining that he and his coaching staff will look to implement a ‘creative’ approach at the selection table.

“We’re not just going to say one person, I reckon we’ll have to carry the load. I like being creative so we’ll get to match committee and look at some options,” said McRae.

With a sell-out crowd expected at The Gabba, McRae is under no illusions about the challenge ahead.

“It will be a massive game against Brisbane on Thursday night.”

“It’s a fantastic occasion, the crowd will come. We’re under no illusion that they’re hard to beat up there. I don’t know how many home games they’ve lost in the last few years but it wouldn’t be many.

“It’s going to be a great game.”

Following strong form in the VFL last weekend, Ed Allan and Finlay Macrae have been selected as emergencies alongside Tom Wilson and Oleg Markov.

The Pies will confirm the substitute 60 minutes before the opening bounce.
