Collingwood’s VFL team have kept their season alive, after defeating Southport by 45-points in their Round 22 clash at the AIA Vitality Centre.

Six individual goal scorers set the tone in the first quarter, with the Pies entering the first break with a 27-point lead. 

Despite a response from the Sharks in the second, the Pies extended their lead to 35-points at half-time. 

A three goal third quarter, followed by three more in the fourth led to a 50-point victory at the AIA Vitality Centre.

The Pies will now wait for the completion of Round 22 to see who they will face in the newly formed VFL Wildcard Round.

Reef McInnes kicked four goals, taking his season total to 25. The lively forward also finished with 18 disposals, nine marks, and five tackles.

The ever-consistent Finlay Macrae amassed another 25 disposals, 11 of which were inside 50s.

Key forward Ash Johnson finished with two goals and two behinds, in addition to 17 disposals and 10 marks.

Co-Captain Campbell Hustwaite made the most of his touches, finishing with 14 disposals, seven clearances, and two goals.

Other major ball winners were Ed Allan (22), Trey Ruscoe (21), and Josh Carmichael (21), while Nathan Kreuger kicked two majors.
