Jordan De Goey and Bobby Hill are set to return in Collingwood’s Friday night clash against Essendon, while Finlay Macrae comes into the side for his first AFL game for season 2023.

De Goey and Hill return to the side for the final Home and Away clash of the year, after missing last week’s loss to Brisbane through glute and hamstring injuries respectively.

Macrae will start as the substitute for his first game at AFL level since Round 23 last year.

Jakob Ryan (concussion) and Nathan Murphy (back/glute) will miss the game through injury, while Beau McCreery will miss through suspension.

Selected at pick 19 in the 2020 AFL National Draft, Macrae has impressed in the VFL across the year. The 21-year-old averaged 26 disposals across 15 games despite suffering back and thumb injuries.

The Club will celebrate two milestones in Round 24, with Josh Daicos to play his 100th AFL game, while Steele Sidebottom equals Cordon Coventry for games played for Collingwood (306 games) Scott Pendlebury currently holds the Club’s record at 379 games with Tony Shaw following at 313 games.

Daicos played his first AFL game in Round 22 against Geelong in 2017, after being drafted as a Father-Son selection at pick 57 in the 2016 AFL National Draft.
