Collingwood has unveiled a flag outside the AIA Vitality Centre as it enters its 2023 finals campaign.

Head Coach Craig McRae explained that the flag represents the connection between the Club’s players and fans and will be visible each time the Pies are playing finals.

“We’ve got the flag that represents the connection between us and our fans,” he said.

“When we’re playing in the finals it’ll fly nice and high here to represent when you go past it ‘oh the Pies must be playing in the finals because the flag is flying’.

“We’ll connect that to our fans – they’ll walk that over to the ground and hand it over to Darcy or myself and it’ll be with us during the finals campaign.

McRae urged the Magpie Army to come out in their droves throughout September as the Club announced an AFL/VFL record 106,470 members.

“We’re so lucky today to announce 106,000 members which is a record in AFL/VFL history,” he said.

“We don’t lose sight of that, it’s an amazing achievement.

“Wherever we go they turn up, and I said on the weekend we want to paint the town black and white.

“Wear your black and white clothes to the Coles, to the supermarket, wherever you go.”

The Flag will be marched by the Magpie Army to the MCG on Thursday evening before the Qualifying Final, before being presented to the team ahead of the game.
