Collingwood has named its extended squad for Sunday’s Round Seven NAB AFLW clash against Carlton at Ikon Park, with the final team to be confirmed on Friday at 5pm.

Sarah Sansonetti and Emily Smith come into the squad, replacing Stacey Livingstone and Selena Karlson who will miss the game through suspension.

If selected in the final team, the clash will be Sansonetti’s fifth of the year, after playing in the first four of season 2023.

Smith will also play her fifth game of the season if selected in the final side, after being omitted for last week’s Round Six victory against Brisbane.

Sunday’s clash will mark Sarah Rowe’s 50th game at AFLW level. Rowe played her first AFLW game in Round One, 2019 against Geelong, after playing both professional soccer and Gaelic Football in Ireland. The midfielder has averaged 13.8 disposals and 205 metres gained from her 49 games thus far.

The clash on Wurundjeri Country will be the first of two games that Collingwood will play in the 2023 AFLW Indigenous Rounds – held across Rounds Eight and Nine of this season.

This year’s theme of ‘Forged by First Nations Moments’ will see a series of celebrations from Collingwood and the league across the two weeks of fixtures, culminating in next Sunday’s home game against Geelong at Victoria Park.
