Collingwood will be out for their third win in a row in 2023 when they take on rivals Carlton on Sunday afternoon.

The Magpies are coming off the back of a stunning comeback against Brisbane last Saturday, triumphing by five points at Brighton Homes Arena.

The win evened the Pies’ ledger at three wins and three loses and brought them right back into contention for a top eight berth with four rounds to play.

Carlton meanwhile sits fifth on the ladder with four wins, having beaten Sydney and the Western Bulldogs in their most recent outings.

The Round Seven clash will be Collingwood midfielder Sarah Rowe’s 50th for the Club, with the multi-talented star reaching the milestone in her sixth season.

The game will be broadcast on Fox Footy and Kayo Sports from 3.00pm AEDT, with the game kicking off at 3.05pm at Ikon Park.

The Pies kicked off the second season in 2022 with a comfortable three goal win over the Blues at IKON Park. Ruby Schleicher was brilliant with 20 disposals across the backline, while Eliza James brought the pressure with 10 tackles. In their first full season without leaders Bri Davey and Brit Bonnici, the Pies stood up across the board to record their fourth straight win over Carlton.

Players to watch

Milestone star Rowe is in career best form, averaging 19 disposals through the midfield as she looks to lead the charge into the top eight for the Pies, while fellow midfielder Mikala Cann is also firing, having kicked the match-winning goal against Brisbane in her 50th game last week. Ruck Sabrina Frederick is also enjoying a solid season having led the hit out count in her past three games. For Carlton, Abbie McKay and Mimi Hill have been racking up plenty of the ball as part of a strong midfield.

Team news

Stacey Livingstone and Selena Karlson will miss the game after accepting one-match sanctions in Saturday’s win over Brisbane.

The two inclusions are Sarah Sansonetti and Emily Smith. See the full team here.
