New Collingwood wingman Clinton Young believes he will miss "at least a month" of football after injuring his hamstring in the dying stages of his new club's 27-point win over Adelaide on Friday night.

Late on Saturday evening, Young tweeted: "Shattering to hurt my hammy in the last minute of the game last night, at least a month on the sidelines. Thanks for all the kind messages."

Young dropped to the ground in pain when tackling Adelaide's Richard Douglas with only 27 seconds remaining in the match. He lay on the ground for several seconds before walking gingerly to the change rooms with the rest of his teammates.

It continues a terrible run of luck for the 27-year-old.

After arriving from Hawthorn via Free Agency last October, Young has been restricted to only two senior and three VFL games due to persistent hamstring issues.

He played his first game for his new club in last week's win over Carlton but was substituted out of the match at three quarter time as he worked his way back to full fitness.

Young had 21 disposals and six marks in Friday night's win.
