Collingwood welcomes the 2024 AFL Women’s home and away fixture following the AFL’s announcement of the draw today.

In what will mark the first 11-Round NAB AFLW home and away season, the Magpies will kick off Round One with a trip to Sydney to face the Swans on Friday, August 30, at 7.15pm at North Sydney Oval.

This season, the Magpie Army will enjoy six home games, with four games at the Club’s spiritual home of Victoria Park which includes the first AFLW match between the Pies and Hawthorn in Round Two and Indigenous Round against Carlton in Round Nine.

With a home night match at IKON Park (Round Four) and another home game at Punt Road Oval on AFL Grand Final Eve (Round Five), Collingwood is set to play on some of the biggest AFLW stages this season.

In addition to Round One, the program will make two other interstate trips which includes Brisbane to face the reigning premiers in Round Three, and Adelaide to meet the Power for the first time in Round Seven which will also mark Pride Round.

Mid-week evening games are also on the AFLW calendar for 2024. Collingwood will host the West Coast Eagles on Tuesday, September 17 at 7.15pm in Round Four, whilst the match against Port in Round Seven will be played on Thursday, October 10, 7.15pm.

Three of the Pies games will be broadcasted on Seven, with the remaining seven to be aired on Foxtel’s Fox Footy.
The date and time for the Pies Round 10 match against Melbourne at IKON Park is to be confirmed.

Collingwood’s General Manager of Women’s Football Jess Burger welcomed today’s draw.

“The confirmation of the 2024 AFLW fixture is exciting for both our program and the Magpie Army,” Burger said.

“We’re thrilled to return to our spiritual home of Victoria Park for four home games this season. Not only are we looking forward to the opportunity to play games on some of the biggest and best stages for AFLW including IKON Park and Punt Road Oval, but we’re also excited to see the Magpie Army come out in force at these stadiums.

“Our Round Five game against the Gold Coast Suns at Punt Road Oval on Grand Final Eve is a fantastic opportunity to showcase women’s football on one of the biggest days on the AFL men’s calendar. This is a fantastic opportunity for the Magpie Army to get amongst all the footy festival action including our match within our sporting precinct.

“With the fixture now confirmed, our AFLW program can now narrow the focus for the season ahead, with a strong intent to how we attack season 9. The program will look to continue to paint the picture with deliberate actions to support our pursuit for sustained success.”

Collingwood’s AFLW program will officially return to the AIA Vitality Centre for pre-season training next Monday, June 3.
