Round 8

Collingwood Coach Craig McRae has made three changes to his team for Saturday night’s Round 8 clash with Geelong.

Captain Darcy Moore returns to the line-up after overcoming an inner-ear injury sustained in the Pies’ Round 6 win over Brisbane.

Forward Lachie Schultz is also back in the team, overcoming a hamstring injury he sustained at training following his Richard Pratt Medal performance in the Pies’ Round 4 win over Carlton.

Ruck Mason Cox also returns to the team after he was omitted for the Anzac Day win over Essendon. The 34-year-old booted two goals in Collingwood’s VFL victory against the Bombers.

The three omissions to the Round 7 team are Jeremy Howe (managed), Dan McStay (injury) and Lachie Sullivan (omitted).

Howe, 34, has played every game so far this season, with the defender’s best performance coming in last week’s win where he collected 21 disposals and nine marks.

McStay, 29, will miss the clash after sustaining a medial collateral ligament (MCL) strain to his left knee in the Anzac Day match win.

Sullivan, who started last week’s win as the substitute, has been named as an emergency alongside Ed Allan and Oleg Markov.

Midfielder Jack Crisp has been named to play his 245th consecutive match, overtaking the late great Jim Stynes for the long-standing V/AFL record.

Crisp’s streak began in Round 18, 2014 and took 10 years and 268 days to achieve, with the first six games being played at the Brisbane Lions.

The tactical substitution will be selected from the bench and will be named 60 minutes before the first bounce.

Collingwood fans can watch the game live on Fox Footy and kayosports.com.au, with the first bounce at 7:35pm (AEST).
