Collingwood has secured three wins from three games over the weekend. In a super Saturday, the Pies’ AFL, VFL, and VFLW teams had a collective winning margin of 23-points.

VFL R8: Collingwood v GWS at Victoria Park

Collingwood handed GWS their first VFL loss of the season, winning by 11-points in a wet contest at Victoria Park.

It was the Magpies who got the upper hand this time around, with former Brownlow medallist and Premiership player Tom Mitchell leading the way.

The 31-year-old, who returned to competitive football last week, appeared in all four quarters in his second game back, Mitchell (21 disposals, 13 tackles) was instrumental in Collingwood’s win.

GWS started the day showing their dominance with repeat scoring opportunities, with Collingwood quickly finding themselves in a 14-to-nothing scoreline.

With the rain coming and going throughout the entire match, the Pies were able to overcome the GIANTS who struggled to capitalise in their forward 50.

The Pies, who are top ranked in the VFL for consistency in front of goal, were better able to take advantage of their chances, finishing the first half with 75% accuracy compared to the Giants’ 33%.

The Magpies now turn their attention to their Round 9 clash against North Melbourne on Sunday 25 May at Victoria Park (2:05pm AEST).

In a tight tussle, Collingwood secured their second victory of the 2025 VFLW season, defeating Box Hill by two points at Victoria Park.

Despite the conditions, the Pies’ accuracy proved pivotal in front of goal with Amelia Peck, Chloe Hunt, Tahlia Fellow and Sophia De Castella all kicking a goal each.

Leading from the front, Captain Dominique Carbone was instrumental with 16 disposals, seven tackles, and four clearances, while Bella Clarke was nominated as VFLW Player of the Match for her team-first role on the wing.

AFL R10: Collingwood v Kuwarna at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG)

In yet another tight win over Kuwarna, the Magpies continued their unbeaten run against the Crows at AFL level, winning by 11-points at the MCG on Saturday.

With 67,697 in attendance – a record home and away crowd for Kuwarna – the game went down to the final minute after the Crows kicked the final two goals of the game to breathe life into a contest that almost looked finished halfway through the last quarter, before finishing 11.12 (78) to 10.8 (68).

Winter arrived early on Saturday, but Collingwood was prepared. The Daicos brothers were instrumental in the win. Josh finished with 29 touches – the most on the ground – and 524m gained, while Nick registered 28 disposals and seven clearances in a business-like performance.

Collingwood reached the final change 16 points in front after Darcy Cameron was gifted a 50m penalty after a poor decision from Fogarty, before Jamie Elliott converted after the siren after plucking a mark from nowhere from a wobbly Beau McCreery torpedo.
