Just days after hearing their names called out in the mid-season draft, Collingwood draftees Roan Steele and Noah Howes are set to pull on the black and white for the first time on Saturday, where they will line up for Collingwood’s VFL side in their match up against the top of the table Box Hill Hawks.

A midfielder originally from Frankston, Steele is no stranger to the VFL, having spent three seasons with the Casey Demons before joining West Perth in the WAFL in 2025.

Meanwhile 19-year-old tall forward Howes will be making his VFL debut, just months after making his SANFL debut for South Adelaide earlier this year, where just last week he kicked three goals against Glenelg.

Steele and Howes aren’t the only AFL-listed inclusions for Collingwood’s match up with Box Hill, with Mason Cox, Oleg Markov, Wil Parker and Will Hayes all returning to the side set to play on Box Hill City Oval on Saturday.

Brady Grey and Ned Byrne round out the eight changes, with Byrne also making his VFL debut.

Chad Mulvogue, Liam Hude, Angus Seivers, Harry Mahoney, Conor Willias, Michael Kiraly, Boston Dowling and Harrison Kennedy have all been omitted.

VFL head coach Andy Otten’s seventh-placed Pies will be looking to bounce back from their 72-point loss to North Melbourne last Sunday at Victoria Park, just their third loss of the 2025 season.

Markovsky, Mulvogue, Seivers, Hude, Kennedy, and Mahoney will be the emergencies.
