Collingwood AFLW Senior Coach Sam Wright has named his extended squad to host Richmond this Sunday at Victoria Park in the Pies’ home Pride Round clash.
After being a late out against the Saints last weekend with calf awareness, 2024 draftee Ash Centra has been named to play against the Tigers.
Forward Eliza James has been omitted from the squad after playing the last two matches against West Coast and St Kilda.
Centra, who received a Rising Star nomination in the Pies’ Round 5 win against Sydney, will be a welcomed inclusion to Wright’s midfield alongside last week’s milestone woman Brit Bonnici, who celebrated 75 games against St Kilda.
Forwards Nell Morris-Dalton and Alana Porter and defender Selena Karlson have been named on the extended bench.
Collingwood’s final side, including three emergencies will be announced on Friday 17 October at 5pm.
A special occasion on the AFLW calendar, Sunday will mark the second week of Pride Round, the first time in league history that Pride is celebrated over two weeks.
The second week allows all Clubs the opportunity to host a Pride clash at their home venues, with Collingwood celebrating the occasion by opening the gates to Victoria Park and allowing all fans to watch the football for free.
With plenty of activations around Victoria Park, the stage is set for a fun day out for all to enjoy.
For fans that can’t get to the game, Collingwood’s Round 10 clash will be broadcast live and free on the Seven Network, as well as Foxtel and kayosports.com.au.
