Collingwood’s winning streak came to an end, as it fell by eight points to Williamstown at Victoria Park.

Two goals in time-on of the fourth term got the Seagulls over the line in what was a tight arm-wrestle all afternoon.

Windy conditions were compounded by rain in the second half to make scoring difficult throughout the match. The margin never reached double figures in either side’s favour after the main break.

The Magpies seemed to have the momentum late in the contest, when a Tom Wilson goal before three-quarter time but them in front.

But the Pies hit the post twice early in the last quarter, and the missed opportunities in a low-scoring affair proved to be costly.

The result sees Williamstown consolidate its place in the top four and the Pies lose ground in the race for the top eight.

Taylor Adams made it through the game unscathed in his first game back from an adductor injury. He sat out the last quarter and finished with 16 disposals, eight tackles and a goal.

Tyson Goldsack and Matthew Scharenberg each put in strong performances in defence for the Pies, as both press their claims for a recall to the senior side.

Midfielders Tyler Brown, Josh Daicos and Rupert Wills were all among the leading ball-winners in a stoppage-heavy contest.
