Collingwood has appointed Hayden Skipworth as head of academy for the 2020 season, replacing the outgoing Tarkyn Lockyer.

Former Essendon and Adelaide player, Skipworth comes to the Pies with a plethora of experience through holding various coaching roles at the Dons, including development coach, VFL coach, and most recently assistant coach.

Skipworth debuted with Adelaide in 2001, before finishing his career at Essendon on 55 games.

Collingwood GM Football Geoff Walsh said having someone of Skipworth’s expertise will greatly benefit the club.

“We are so pleased to be able to bring someone of Hayden’s experience into our program and will be a significant acquisition and contributor to the academy program,” Walsh said.

Skipworth will officially commence his role on Monday 18 November.
