Second year Pie Will Hayes is set to make his return to the field in Collingwood’s VFL clash with Brisbane on Saturday after overcoming a shoulder injury.
It’s positive news for the small forward, who was putting together a strong string of games at AFL-level before a shoulder dislocation in the Round 11 clash against West Coast disrupted his season.
Joining Hayes in the VFL inclusions is AFL-listed defender Noah Howes, who has overcome his own shoulder injury to play his first game since the Pies’ Round 15 VFL clash with Werribee.
Off-season VFL recruit Taj Woewodin rounds out the inclusions for the Brisbane clash, with the two sides set to battle it out at Coburg’s Barry Plant Park on Saturday morning.
Coming out of the side is mid-season draftee Liam Puncher, who will make his AFL debut against Gold Coast on Saturday night.
The 195cm key defender joined Collingwood via Woodville-West Torrens in the SANFL competition and has impressed in his first four VFL games for the Pies, averaging 11 disposals and six intercepts.
Last week’s Coach’s MVP Angus Anderson also comes out of the sides as he serves as emergency for the AFL clash, while VFL leader Max Mahoney rounds out the omissions.
Mahoney, Liam Hude, Josiah Landy, Harry Mahoney, and Jake Watts will serve as emergencies for the clash.
Collingwood’s Round 15 VFL clash with Brisbane will be streamed live and free on Collingwoodfc.com.au while also broadcast on Kayo Sports from 10am AEST.
