Key forward/ruck Josie Bamford is set to make her AFLW debut on Saturday night.
Taken with pick 29 in the 2025 NAB AFLW Draft, Bamford has impressed in the pre-season and has rightfully earned her opportunity.
After winning the last year’s Talent League premiership with the Eastern Ranges, Bamford averaged 23 hitouts and 15 disposals while also slotting 10 goals throughout the season.
At national level for Vic Metro, Bamford starred in all four games and went on to be named in the All-Australian side.
Known for being a threat in the air and equally as fierce at ground level, the competitive ruck/forward is extremely mobile despite measuring at 183cm while also boasting explosive speed as she ranked in the top 10 at the Draft Combine for the 20m sprint.
Bamford is one of nine debutants already confirmed for Saturday’s clash.
Collingwood’s full team to face Richmond will be released at 6:20pm AEST on Thursday.
