Defensive duo Maisie Nankivell and Jordy Allen are part of some big inclusions in Collingwood's Round 2 squad for Sunday's clash with Fremantle at Victoria Park.
Nankivell's Club debut was confirmed on Thursday, with the former netballer arriving at the KGM Centre over the off-season after a tenured sporting career.
The defender played two games for the Adelaide Crows between 2019-20, before switching her focus to netball full-time.
She'll now line up for her first game in black and white on the weekend, having impressed over the off-season with her strong presence in the back half of the ground.
Allen is also set to play her first game of the season, after missing Round 1 with a calf injury that had kept her sidelined throughout pre-season.
The versatile defender is an important cog in the Pies' squad and is one of the side's Vice-Captains, having assumed a leadership role back in 2023.
Former skipper Bri Davey will potentially play her first game of 2026 having been named in the extended squad for the first time since 2024, while forward-turned-defender Kalinda Howarth could also play her first game of 2026, named in the Pies' squad after training well while returning from a calf injury.
Leader Lucy Cronin will miss the clash after injuring her shoulder in Round 1 against Richmond. The third-year star had been a test during the week, however was unable to recover in time to take her place in the side.Â
The final team will be confirmed at 5pm on Friday ahead of Sunday's clash with the Dockers.
The first ball up is scheduled for 12:35pm at Victoria Park, with fans encouraged to get along to the side's first home game of the year and celebrate Magpie Army Week.
