Scans have confirmed AFLW midfielder Dom Carbone has sustained a stress fracture in her left foot, ruling her out for the remainder of the 2026 AFLW season.

The medical team will assess the appropriate next steps for her recovery.

Elevated from the Club’s VFLW team ahead of the 2026 season as an injury replacement player, she has featured in all but one game of the home-and-away season.

Carbone has built an impressive resume in her young career, earning consecutive selection in the VFLW State Team while claiming back-to-back Club VFLW Best and Fairest awards in 2025 and 2026.

Executive General Manager of Women’s Football Jess Burger said:

“It’s disappointing news for Dom and our program to see her season come to an early end,”

“Dom has worked incredibly hard and has been a valued member of not only the AFLW program but of the entire Club leading the VFLW program outstandingly across the year too.

“She continues to demonstrate outstanding character and professionalism and while this is a tough setback, we know she'll attack her rehabilitation with the same determination she brings every day.

“The program will be right beside her, supporting her through every step of her recovery.”
