On the opening day of the 2026 Free Agency Period, Collingwood has acquired the services of three-time Premiership player Lachie Neale from the Brisbane Lions.
The Pies are also excited to welcome Kärcher as the Club’s official Trade and Draft Partner for 2026.
Neale joins the Magpies as an Unrestricted Free Agent, following eight years at the Lions and seven at Fremantle.
A two-time Brownlow Medallist, Neale will bring a wealth of experience to Collingwood’s midfield.
Playing a key role in Brisbane’s three consecutive Premierships, Neale’s ball-winning ability and accuracy combined with his football smarts allows him to dominate across the ground.
With a total of 321 outings across his career, Neale has averaged 27.5 disposals, 15.2 handballs and 6.4 clearances per game.
The 33-year-old arrives at the Pies with an impressive resume, including four All Australian selections and six club Best and Fairest awards to his name - two Doig Medals from his time at Fremantle and four Merrett-Murray Medals at the Lions.
General Manager of List and Talent Strategy Justin Leppitsch welcomed Neale to the black and white.
“We are excited to welcome Lachie to Collingwood. He brings a wealth of experience and will really bolster our midfield, particularly around stoppage,” Leppitsch said.
“Lachie is one of the competition's premier midfielders and has consistently performed at an elite level for more than a decade. His ability to win the football and influence games makes him great addition to our AFL program.
“Lachie led the Lions as Co-Captain throughout a successful period for the Club and we know he will continue to share his knowledge and experience with our playing group.”
The 2026 AFL Free Agency Period opened today, with the Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period to commence on Monday, running through to Wednesday 14 October.
