A Brownlow Medallist, a Coleman winner and a ruck for the future; it's been a blockbuster off-season for the Magpies already.
The 2026 player movement window officially wrapped up on Wednesday night, with the Pies one of the biggest movers across the league since Free Agency opened of Friday 02 October.
They kicked it all off by adding three-time premiership player Lachie Neale as the first free agent to move clubs, with the 2020 and 2023 Brownlow Medallist arriving from Brisbane.
Signing a multi-year deal, then six-time Best & Fairest and his previous two clubs in the Dockers and Lions will add class and experience to the black and white in the coming seasons.
With over 300 games to his name, he'll join a young midfield being led by fellow Brownlow winner Nick Daicos and help mentor the likes of Ed Allan, Sam Swadling and Angus Anderson.
When the trade period opened a couple of days later, the Pies again ignited proceedings with the first deal on Monday, signing Jesse Hogan in a trade of pick 75 with GWS
Joining his fourth club, Hogan arrives at the Pies after 190 games for Melbourne, Fremantle and the GIANTS, having amassed over 400 goals during his time in the league.
While hampered by injuries in 2026, the past few seasons have been the best of his career, helping him secure the 2024 Coleman Medal and an All Australian blazer to go with it.
At 31 years of age, the key forward still has plenty of football ahead of him and is set to join close mate Lachie Schultz and keys Dan McStay and Tim Membrey as a leader in attack.
After a lull of over a week, the Pies wrapped up their movements by securing young ruck Flynn Riley in a trade with Carlton on Tuesday afternoon.
The black and white handed over a 2028 third round pick for the 209cm tall who has signed a multi-year deal with the Club, in a sign of the belief in his abilities.
Having debuted for the Blues during their 2026 campaign after they plucked him from their VFL program in the mid-season draft, Riley is looking to build on his AFL experience at his boyhood club next year.
He'll hit the ground running at pre-season with the rest of the first to fourth year players on 23 November, while Neale and Hogan will join a week later alongside the remainder of the squad.
The next crop of new Magpies to join the Club will be via the Telstra AFL Draft on November 19 and 20.
