Collingwood will face Richmond in the First Preliminary Final on Friday night at the MCG.

The winner will progress to the Grand Final and take on the winner of the West Coast v Melbourne Preliminary Final, while the defeated will end their 2018 campaign.

The match will begin at 7.50pm and be broadcast on Channel Seven and Fox Footy.

Full ticketing details will be published on collingwoodfc.com.au and through the club’s social media channels as soon as they are confirmed.

Collingwood last met Richmond in a final in the 1980 decider, while the club last beat the Tigers in September back in 1937, when Gordon Coventry kicked six goals in a 51-point Semi-Final win.

The two clubs have met in 16 finals, seven of which were won by the Magpies. They have not met in a Preliminary Final since 1973.

Since the Tigers joined the competition in 1908, the two clubs have met 208 times, with Collingwood winning 117, losing 90 and drawing once.
