Collingwood’s AFLW team will feature two debutants in Sunday’s match against the West Coast Eagles at Victoria Park.

Former Oakleigh Charger Alana Porter and Irish recruit Aishling Sheridan will run out in the black and white for the first time.

Porter, a member of Collingwood’s 2019 VFLW premiership side, offers impressive speed down back and is pivotal in one-on-one contests. Having been selected by the club as pick 82 in the 2019 AFLW Draft, the 18-year-old has shown great improvement throughout the pre-season and has displayed some exciting signs of what’s to come this season.

As a Gaelic Footballer, Sheridan has played two seasons with Cavan in the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). She was selected by the Pies as a cross-code rookie during the 2019 AFLW trade period. The half-forward has spent time with the Northern Territory Thunder and is known for her endurance and speed on the field.

Also named for the Pies is electric midfielder and the team’s vice-captain, Brianna Davey. Sunday’s game will mark her first official AFLW appearance in the black and white.

Magpie fans will also be thrilled to see the long-awaited return of Chloe Molloy. The 2018 AFLW NAB Rising Star missed the 2019 season having suffered a lisfranc injury in a VFLW game. The versatile player will start in attack and will be joined in the forward line by Jordyn Allen.

Sunday’s match will mark the Eagles’ debut in the AFLW competition.
