Collingwood midfielder Brianna Davey remains in contention to play against her former club, Carlton, this Sunday after being cleared of serious injury.

Davey was hurt in the third quarter of Collingwood’s season opening match against West Coast at Victoria Park, with initial fears that the star AFLW player had suffered a break to her lower left leg.

Scans today revealed soft tissue damage but no break or other major injury.

Davey’s selection prospects for the encounter with the Blues will be determined on the training track.

“We will assess Bri through the week in rehab and on the training track and look to make a call on her playing the Carlton match at training on Friday,” Collingwood AFLW physical performance manager, Chris Howley, said.
