Collingwood will face its arch enemy Carlton in round two on Sunday at Ikon Park.

The Pies are hoping to carry through the momentum from last week’s strong performance, having taken down the Eagles by 27 points to claim their first round one victory in the competition.

Chloe Molloy made a stellar return to the AFLW stage. Making the move up forward, the 21-year-old claimed kicked a goal and gathered 10 disposals.     

  

Jaimee Lambert was a standout in the midfield alongside Magpie foundation players Steph Chiocci and Brit Bonnici - all three being named among the best.

Down back, Stacey Livingstone stood tall, collecting 12 disposals and nine kicks, while Alana Porter also offered solid pressure around the contest in her first outing.

The Blues will return to Ikon Park on Sunday fresh off spoiling Richmond’s AFLW debut with a 34-point victory in last Friday’s season opener.

The 2019 grand finalists dominated with 33 more inside 50s thanthe Tigers.

Youngster Maddy Prespakis impressed, collecting 21 disposals, five tackles and a goal. Lucy McEvoy was also a strong on-baller, while Taylor Harris was solid up forward with 13 disposals.

The Baggers kicked four unanswered goals in the third term that saw them control the remainder of the game.

All eyes are now on Magpies vice-captain Bri Davey and whether she’ll be fit to face her former side come Sunday.

The Pies will need to bring the pressure early in order to match the Blues’ strong attacking style.

The two sides last met back in round five of the 2019 season where the Blues took a five-point win.

Collingwood’s squad for Sunday’s game will be revealed on Thursday evening with the final team to be announced on Friday at 4pm.
